The three domains of design

At architecture and design school you learn, by doing, the activities and applied uses of making and drawing. Writing? Not so much. Of course, you have to write the occasional essay, but writing is not taught as a design tool.

Despite this, all three activities - drawing, making, and yes, writing - underpin the design process. The book is a framework for learning, by doing, the third domain of the design Triad, and the one most neglected in design school: writing.
