This diagram shows three domains of design. The book will focus on the process of writing as a subset of the design process, but the relationship between the parts remains important. Is this diagram definitive? I am not sure. I have decided to put it into the world now and meditate on it afterwards.
I do agree with this writer, who was speaking about the role of writing in UX, web and service design. I believe the quote holds true for architecture, industrial and interiors as well.
What’s the purpose of design? It’s more than just making things look pretty, it’s fundamentally about communication and this is the same for writing. This is why design and writing are naturally linked.
